World of Warcraft (WoW) Playing and Real Violence

Although we don't know how many people are beating the drum for World of Warcraft on earth, it is clear that most of the people, particular for parents, who are worrying about the World of Warcraft gaming would indulge children in violence.

Maybe you've heard their complaining, even if some people strongly suggest that change some big contents about violence. So I was asked the question: "how to get rid of the violence in World of Warcraft?" I don't know how to answer, because we don't have the theoretic support although I know the game is a combination of art, science, technique etc.

Do you believe that? I'm no sure weather is it scientific, although it is shows as real as data of survey. But l mention that many gamers leave their comment to agree with that, one said: "Fortunately, there is a new study must comfort all of us including most of WoW fans and faithful gamers."

The new study was published by Miss Jane Barnett and her colleagues at Middlesex University. Their results presented at the British Psychological Society's Annual Conference in Dublin on Wednesday 2 April, 2008. According to their revealing, there will be a general feeling of relaxation after a session playing massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft.

The psychologists recruited 292 male and female online gamers, who aged between 12 and 83 yes old, playing the great game World of Warcraft. They were asked to complete a questionnaire on anger, aggressions and personality and then they played the game for two hours. After this time they were asked and complete the questionnaire again. The psychologists found overall the gamers were more likely to feel calm or tired after playing. But why do we often hear of the much reported feelings of anger and aggression that seems to have become synonymous with gaming?

Furthermore, the survey should reminde us to take it serious, just as Miss Barnett figured that WoW gaming will help us to develop an emotion, and gamers is likely to transfer online aggression into everyday life. As a common people, I'm not a psychologist, and I have no any idea of the correlation between WoW playing and violence now.

If you are still worry about your children, who could be influenced by violence, how can you explain the man, who aged 83 years old are playing World of Warcraft?
